BMW Maintenance and Repair Schedule

Maintaining your BMW is the key to running it as efficiently as possible. BMW offers two types of care packages depending on the model of your vehicle. All BMW models manufactured in 2017 or later come with the BMW Ultimate Care standard, which offers the following service items for the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first:

  • Engine Oil
  • Engine Filter
  • Brake Fluid
  • Cabin Micro Filter(s)
  • Engine Air Filter(s)
  • Spark Plugs
  • Remote Control/Key Battery
  • Vehicle Check
  • Fuel Filter (Diesel engines only)

For BMW models manufactured in 2016 or earlier, they come with the BMW Maintenance Program, which covers all of the above items for the first four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first.

It’s still important to continue to maintain your BMW after you’re outside of the service care package parameters. And many items are excluded from the standard service package, for example, the gasoline engine fuel filter or BMW wheel alignment, tire balancing, and rotation. But rather than continuing to take your BMW to a dealer who will charge you inflated service prices, it makes more sense to bring it to a qualified BMW mechanic near you. At Jesse's Garage, your top Sarasota automotive technician specializing in fine European models of vehicles, we can help you stick to the recommended service schedule for your BMW as outlined below.

  • Synthetic Oil Change: Every 10,000 miles
  • Service reminder light: Every 10,000 miles
  • Spark plugs replacement: Every 30,000 miles
  • Brake fluid flush: Every 20,000-40,000 miles
  • Drive belt(s) replace: Every 60,000-100,000 miles
  • Cabin air filter replacement: Every 20,000 miles
  • Tire Rotation: Every 7,000 miles
  • Coolant flush: Every 60,000 miles
  • Automatic transmission fluid change: 50,000 miles

Regular Checks Performed by the Vehicle Operator

There are some maintenance issues a vehicle owner can keep an eye on themselves. In addition to the routine maintenance procedures usually performed by mechanics, BMW also recommends that you regularly check and address, when necessary, the following items:

  • Washer fluid level
  • Engine oil level
  • Coolant level
  • Brake fluid level
  • Tires — pressure, condition, and wear

Although these can easily be handled by the vehicle owner, here at Jesse's Garage, we are happy to assist with any of these minor maintenance issues. And besides routine maintenance, we have the expertise to handle any repair issues you might be experiencing with your BMW.

When it’s time to bring your vehicle into the garage for maintenance, why not bring it to a trusted BMW auto mechanic near you? Call our office today to set up your appointment.
